New Member Outreach committee meeting: 10-Jan-2010

How many of you want to see Urban Greens open a store in 2010? As you edit your list of New Year's resolutions tonight, think about what kind of commitment you'd like to make to see a food co-op in your neighborhood.

My name is Deb Rosenberg and I'm chairing the Urban Greens membership committee for the next year. If you received the minutes from the annual meeting, you will already be aware that we need to make a large effort to expand our membership if we want to make this co-op materialize. I think we can all agree that to this point, our efforts at major recruitment have been rather lackluster. But as we have moved forward in our financial planning and received guidance from mentor co-ops it has become ever clearer that the key to our progress will be a strong army of members who are vested in the co-op, both theoretically and financially.

If you want to be a part of this grassroots, community effort to bring Providence a food co-op, please join us for our next Membership Committee meeting on Januray 10th, 2010 from 4-5:30pm @ the WBNA.

Happy New Year! May all your dreams come true - especially those involving start-up co-ops. :o)
