There are number of ways that you can get involved with Urban Greens--here are just a few:
  1. Buy a founding share! The more member-owners and equity we raise, the stronger our coop will be and the likely it is that other groups will help us with funding. Please consider buying a share or, even if you already have one, consider investing more in additional shares to increase our equity. Go to the "Join the Coop" page for details.
  2. Organize a small membership event. For example, invite 10 friends over to your house for a potluck or coffee and we'll send a storefront committee member over to help with a short presentation about Urban Greens, answer questions, and sign people up for shares. You know people that we don't, and we need your help attracting as diverse and broad a membership as possible! Email urbangreens@gmail.com to help with a small membership event like this.
  3. Organize a larger event. Urban Greens has promotional events of all types, but we can't throw all of them, so we need your help! Get involved in planning a membership event, a fundraiser, a bakesale, or let us know about any other ideas you have. Concerts, parties, dinners, plays, who knows what could work? But we'll work with you to make it happen. Please email urbangreens@gmail.com and let us know if you have an idea for an event.
  4. Join a Committee: Urban Greens has three committees of member-owners who do the work of the coop. These are the Storefront Committee, the Membership and Communications Committee and the Outreach Committee. Email urbangreens@gmail.com to find out more or to join a committee.
  5. Consider making a member loan. This Spring Urban Greens will be launching a Capital Campaign. Look for details on this soon and consider making either a donation or a member loan to the coop!
